Cecelia Ramos Linayao

Cecelia Ramos Linayao

Cecelia Ramos Linayao is a fine arts graduate of California State University Long Beach. She recently completed a street painting exhibition in Xi’an, China and was part of the Guinness Book of World Record’s Largest Street Painting in Oakland, CA. She was the Featured Artist in Napa Valley’s La Strada dell Arte and will be the Featured Artist in Houston, Texas’ Via Colori in November.

She was chosen to be the first Featured Artist celebrating Women’s History Month at Southwestern College 2007. She was the 2007 Featured Artist at Via Arte for Bakersfield’s Museum of Art. She was the Featured Artist at Mission Viejo’s Children’s Creative Festival 2006. She was the 2005 Featured Artist at Little Italy’s Chalk La Strada in San Diego.

Other street painting festivals include Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo’s I Madonnari, San Rafael’s Youth in Arts, Pasadena Chalk Fest (Famous Fathers’ Award 2006), Long Beach Chalk (awarded “People’s Choice” 2007) and Canoga Park’s Dia de Los Muertos (awarded “Most Spiritual” 2007). She was one of only 10 artists invited to inaugurate Hollywood & Highland’s first chalk festival. She also painted at the Hale’iwa Arts Festival in Oahu, Hawaii. With her colleagues in KTCA (Keeping The Culture Alive - a nonprofit foundation focused on Filipino-American arts), she won a Channel 10 Leadership Award.

Her mixed media paintings are on exhibit in and are in private collections. One of her paintings was selected by Nordstrom to celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month 2007. Another painting was used for a Superbowl XXXVII media event. After a live demonstration, another painting was donated to ARTS (A Reason To Survive - a nonprofit utilizing art to help children with adversities).

Combining techniques old and new, she finds deep satisfaction in creating art for communication, education and self-expression.
